CD

I heard an unmixed version of a few of our songs yesterday after Jesse had done some of his magic with EQ'ing, compression, reverb, etc. It was so tight. I hope that it wasn't just the sound system that he played it through. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't. What was also cool, was that he was very complimentary of our style, technique and versatility (to which Pedro exclaims "The Lord likes everything he hears!"). I was so excited I forgot to eat on my lunch break. Should be done on Tuesday. We'll see about "Pre-Release Copies" or at least pre-release listenings. Peace in your hood.

patience

I've had some good discussions/revelations recently about God's patience and timing with me - and how prayer plays such a big part in that. Very humbling, very exciting. For a long time I was of the mindset that I can't change God's mind so what difference does prayer make? Recently I've seen how God's will includes our prayers. More than I can completely understand.
I'm excited about the CD. Should be done within a day or two - I really can't wait to hear it. I think people are going to like it. Could be moving out before too long. Hopeful about that. Peace in your hood.

Is this what I am assosciated with?

A few nights ago I was watching Whose Line?, and apparently the channel that it is on turns into the Christian late night talk show channel. I might have fallen asleep during the transition... Anyways, I think the dude is Pat Robertson, or something along those lines. He was taking viewer questions and a lady (professing believer) said that she had an affair with her husbands brother or friend or someone that he knew, and that she felt really bad - could God forgive her? I don't remember exactly but it seems to me that her husband was a professing believer as well. The host of the show said of course God can forgive her, as far as the east is from the west, etc. But he also said not to confess to her husband, because that would just lead to worse things "he would just want to kill his friend, wouldnt trust you anymore, etc, etc." He went on to say that this type of thing in general is better left unsaid to people, just confessed to God.

While I think that there are many instances in which sin confession can be generic or isn't edifying to everyone, this situation struck me as being way off mark. Why couldn't the couple use this instance to grow stronger together in Christ, practicing confession, repentance, and forgiveness? I'm not saying it would be easy. The dude in this instance, if he is a believer has the responsibility to continue to love his wife and forgive her.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
